¨ Puppetry Pastiche
Under the title Puppetry Pastiche, the Dutch Puppetry Museum proudly presents a series of cardboard table-top theatres containing images which are a pastiche - both an imitation and a mix - of photos and other illustrations from the Museum's international collection. Vintage and contemporary prints, figures and photos accompany the exhibition. Artists on show include Teun Hocks, Wouter van Riessen and Michaël Ferron from the Netherlands, Martha and Matthias Griebler from Austria and Pipilotti Rist from Switzerland, their work taking the form of stage-set photography, graphics and drawings, and a genuine Rist Jumping Jack.

¨ Puppetry traditions
Attributes from various puppetry traditions are on show, including Kasper from Germany, Karaghiozis from Greece, Polichinelle from France and Mr Punch from Britain. Figures such as Chinese shadow puppets, masquerade puppets from Mali, Bunraku puppet theatre from Japan, Poesjenellen from Antwerp, Neapolitan puppetry's Pulcinella, Pinocchio and even Alfred Jarry's Père Ubu will also be putting in an appearance. It goes without saying that the traditional Dutch Jan Klaassen and Katrijn will be present, along with their cousins Guignol and Madelon from Lyon. And, as if that were not enough to keep the puppets on their toes, we shall also be resurrecting Death.

¨ A link to the present day, documentation and education
The colourful mini theatres give an impression of folk puppet theatre from the olden days, but there is also a link to more modern forms of expression in puppetry and puppet theatre arts. The pastiche theatres have been designed by Otto van der Mieden and Hetty Paërl. Richly illustrated Puppetry Museum Pamphlets provide information about the wide range of subjects which are on show. Puppetry booths and a treasure hunt quiz provide an opportunity to Try it Yourself. In this way, visitors can explore the colourful and varied world of puppetry.
